Site Wish List

No promises, but what features would you like to see added to the site?

We're doing some work to see if we can't make some improvements here but it may take a while (and, like any wish list items, may not happen at all). Here are our initial thoughts:

  • Makes clearer what it is the search result relates to - e'g' is it a gamebox, a mod, or what?
  • Where the search returns a gamebox, mod etc, include the publisher info

I'm guessing that it will be fairly easy to add a field to capture version numbers and to then display it on the file's download page. However, I'm not convinced we'll be adding it retrospectively for 1100 files!

I suppose display some sort of date (creation, posting?) can give the audience enough idea how old/new the file is, and easier to be done for 1100 files?

By the way, have you heard that enough - you've done a great job, thank you !

And the posting/file date is a good idea on the face of it. However,v I don't think the posting date would work as it will only show when it was added to LYG - that could have very little relationship to when it was created. The created date might work better but even thatt would have anomalies arising from the fact I sometimes have to tweak files - And even were this not a problem, what I think people really want is to be able to compare version numbers for fiiles elesewhere (be it their computer or another download site) with those on LYG.

Thanks for the thought though.

Tash tells me she'll be addig a Ver No. field to the update page soon so at least new files should be covered.

I'd like to see the average rating of each game in the 3 download listings.

Thanks for your suggestion. I really like the idea of showing the ratings more on the site. The problem right now is that very few games have been rated and it would be a shame to show empty data. Of course, this could be the incentive you all need to start rating your favourite games.

Precisely what I was thinking. It takes some effort to review and rate modules you have used or looked at and seeing the result would be some sort of incentive.
